New Mexico's 911 service system being down a 'hoax,' officials say
The Tucumcari Quay emergency communications center reported the 911 system was experiencing issues statewide. They made the announcement on its Facebook page.KOAT has confirmed with the Department of Homeland Security that a message posted on that Facebook page is a hoax. It was posted around 7 p.m. Tuesday and remained posted for several hours. They said if people call 911, they may be routed to another dispatch center, they said in the event that happens, the caller will be transferred back to the correct dispatch center.This is a breaking news story and will be updated as information becomes available
