Obituary: John Roumasset, M.D.
John Roumasset, MD, passed away peacefully at home in Truckee, California, on 4/4/24, after a 21 year battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was 75 years old. John was born in Oakland, California to Helen and Charles Roumasset on 7/18/1948. He grew up in San Carlos, California with his parents and his brother and sister. He graduated from San Carlos high school. In 1966 he entered the University of California in Berkeley. He graduated Phi Betta Kappa from UC Berkeley in 1970 with a major in mathematics. Next he attended the Johns Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore, MD, and graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1974.

Tahoe Expedition Academy launches Pride Run & Music Festival
TRUCKEE, Calif. – The town of Truckee is holding its first-ever Pride Week this June, and it all culminates with a special event hosted by Tahoe Expedition Academy. The inaugural Rainbow Run, Rock & Roll is set for Sunday, June 9 at Truckee River Regional Park and the Legacy Trail. The family-friendly, multi-hour festival includes a 5K fun run/walk, a shortened course for those on wheels, live musical performances, local art vendors, community booths, food trucks and much more.

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Fire and community resource agencies in the Tahoe-Truckee region are taking action to improve wildfire prevention. “Forest health has to be our number one goal.
