A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in a crash Sunday evening in the area of 4th Street and Madison Street.
At around 8:30 p.m., members of the Troy police and fire departments responded to several 911 calls reporting a crash involving a car and a motorcycle. Upon arrival, emergency responders located one patient, the operator of the motorcycle, with serious injuries. That patient has been brought to a local area hospital for treatment. Police personnel are working to notify family members of the patient’s injury, and no further patient information will be provided at this time.
Detectives and evidence technicians have responded to assist in the investigation. At this point details are limited. The driver of the other involved vehicle is cooperating with the investigation. Evidence technicians will effort to identify, preserve, document and collect any evidence at the scene while detectives work to interview potential witnesses and the involved individuals.
Residents and visitors in the area can expect a police presence at the scene, and road closures/traffic detours, while the preliminary investigation is completed. These detours will likely last several hours, but police say the roadway will be reopened prior to the morning commute.
Anyone who may have been traveling in the area is asked to contact the Troy Police if they have not already done so. Any community member with information can contact Detectives directly at (518) 270-4421 or report online at troypd.org.
