TROY (WWJ) – Somerset Mall is getting a makeover this summer.
Officials with the Somerset Collection announced Thursday construction will begin this month as they “reimagine the guest experience” at the mall.
The exterior makeover will bring a newly paved entry in the South Rotunda, new landscaping, “brilliant lighting” and a new fine dining experience with outside seating.
Officials didn't release any further details about what restaurant will be offering outdoor dining.
During construction from June to September, the mall will “continue to surprise and delight guests” by offering complimentary refreshments and live music at each entrance of Somerset Collection South.
While construction is ongoing at the south parking area, shoppers will have to use other entrances, including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and through the additional doors found at the front of the building. Signs will mark the way to entrances.
Both parking structures and the entrances adjacent to these parking areas will remain fully open during the renovation.
Stylists at the mall will also create a “Construction Catwalk” promoted through social media. Guests traversing the skywalk will often see photographers and models in action.
More information on the renovation can be found on the Somerset Collection website.
