TIPP CITY — A cat seriously burned in a fire in Trotwood last month continues his recovery in Kentucky.

Fotis, an approximately 1-year-old male cat, is now in Lexington, Kentucky where he spends his day at the Veterinary Wellness Center and nights at the home of a veterinary technician, according to Our Farm Sanctuary’s Facebook page.

“The kind woman who works at VWC is bringing him back and forth for his treatment since they don’t have 24-hour care at the center,” Our Farm Sanctuary wrote on its Facebook Page. “She stepped up to foster without us even having to ask. Foster has travel coming up so we might be looking for more help in the area as he continues through treatments.”

There are still concerns about some wounds but the sanctuary said they are “crossing our every paw that normal life is beginning again for our boy.”

In April, Sophia Kartsonis of Our Farm Sanctuary told News Center 7 that Fotis had been “doused in accelerant” before someone flicked a cigarette on him, lighting him on fire at a Trotwood apartment complex.

“He had burns from head to toe,” Kartsonis previously said.

Now, she said more wounds have “declared themselves.”

Our Farm Sanctuary is also asking for donations saying Fotis’ care has been expensive.
