WASHINGTON D.C., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A Traverse City man arrested last summer for his involvement in the January 6 insurrection has been sentenced to four months in prison after pleading guilty to felony charges on Friday.
Along with four months behind bars, Luke Lints, 29, was sentenced to serve 36 months of supervised release, the first four of which will be on home detention and a fine/restitution of $2,000.
According to court documents, Lints was part of a large group of rioters who attempted to violently push their way past law enforcement officers guarding the Lower West Terrace tunnel of the Capitol.
Those documents say Lints was observed at the front of the line of rioters, where he obtained a police riot shield and used it to push back against a capitol police.
He was arrested on June 30, 2022, in Traverse City.
