North Carolina man arrested in Towns County on drug charges
A North Carolina man was arrested in Towns County Sunday after he was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine laced with fentanyl. According to a social media post from the Towns County Sheriff's Office, Dwayne Emanuel Gibson, 62, of Salisbury, North Carolina, was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.
Towns County authorities still searching for alleged excavator thief
One person has been arrested and one is still at large in the case of a stolen excavator that was found in Towns County over the weekend. In a social media post, the Towns County Sheriff's Office said they received a tip that led to the discovery of the CAT 305E excavator at a home on Bugscuffle Road near Macedonia. It had been reported as stolen out of Spartanburg, South Carolina.
