VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Oliver is in the Barnes County Museum and it is a sight to be seen for Triceratop lovers. “Oliver” the Triceratops, was found in the Hell Creek Formation of Harding County, South Dakota in 2021 and excavated in 2022 by Alan Komrosky and Hell Creek Relics of Valley City, North Dakota. More than 20 feet of over burden needed to be removed before the bones could be carefully jacketed for transport.

CASSELTON, N.D. – MayPort-CG’s softball seniors left their mark at the eighth annual Scheels Softball All-Star Series. Danica Hanson finished the three-game senior showcase event with four hits in seven at-bats and Rylee Satrom gave up two earned runs in five innings in the pitching circle as the West All-Stars edged the East All-Stars 2-1 in the series.
Girls’ Tennis State Championship Celebration June 13
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The girls’ tennis state championship community celebration will be held Thursday, June 13th, at 6pm in the Valley City Eagles Club. There will be a free will donation taco bar for supper. All community members are invited to celebrate and congratulate the Valley City High School Tennis Team on the Class A State Championship. A short program will occur approximately 6:45pm. All are welcome.
Grand Opening of Innovation Shop at Grand Farm
CASSELTON, N.D. (Valley News Live) - AgTech Week kicked off in a big way on Monday with the grand opening of the Grand Farm Innovation Shop. It’s the first building constructed as part of the Innovation Campus located just west of Casselton, North Dakota. Federal, state and local officials were there on June 10 to celebrate the milestone. A program was followed by tours and technology demonstrations.
Mobile food pantry returns to Valley City, June 6th
The Great Plains Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry will be stopping in Valley City on June 6th. “Each time our Mobile Food Pantry makes stops inside Valley City, you can immediately see the need as cars typically fill up the parking lot at the football stadium waiting to go through the distribution,” Jared Linde, communications manager for the Great Plains Food Bank, said in an email. “All the volunteers there are fantastic to work with along with the Epworth United Methodist Church.”

The Metros bounced back after their one-run outing against the Carrington Redbirds by pounding out 11 runs on ten hits. The Metros also played some solid defense, only committing one error through seven innings. Renville County managed four hits on the day, but their four fielding errors gifted the Metros far too many opportunities.
