Westby man and Gays Mills woman arrested on drug related charges following traffic stop
CRAWFORD COUNTY, Wis. – Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that on Friday, May 24, law enforcement personnel conducted a traffic stop on State Highway 131 in the Township of Freeman. The Sheriff’s report states that during the stop, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Diego was utilized and alerted to the presence of one or more controlled substances in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted, and the following was discovered, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.
2 men arrested after breaking into tower site
COON, Wis. (WEAU) - Two men were arrested Saturday night after breaking into a communications tower site and trying to steal copper. 39-year-old Stephen Nofsinger and 34-year-old Joshua Quario, both from rural Kendall, Wis., were arrested on June 1 around 11:30 p.m. after being caught trying to steal copper from a communications tower site in rural Westby, Wis., in the town of Coon.

Dairy supply company fined over $200K for violating wastewater laws
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A Monroe County judge ordered a dairy supply company to pay nearly $210,000 for violations of state wastewater laws, Wisconsin DOJ announced Tuesday. Officials said the violation took place at the concentrated animal feeding operation (CAFO) of Phil G. Mlsna and Mlsna Dairy Supply, Inc in Sparta.

A press release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says on May 30, 2024, at around 4:15 p.m., authorities received a call regarding a motorcycle versus SUV crash at the intersection of Ironwood Road and County Highway A in the Town of Tomah.
