After a close half of basketball at Glen Butler Court last night the Siuslaw Vikings poured the pressure on Toledo and broke away to take a commanding lead in the second half. The Vikings outscored the Boomers 76-41 with Andrew Jensen Norman leading the Vikings with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Gabe Deleon had 7 assists and Landon Curley added 5.

The Siuslaw Viking will host Toledo this evening in basketball at Glen Butler Court. The action will begin at 6pm with the Viking Varsity Boys taking the court first. There will be a pregame at 5:45 on KCST. Toledo is a 2A school in the Valley Coast Conference. The Vikings will have 9 more preseason games before beginning the league season on January 3rd against Elmira.

Ardor Adventures will give you that chance on January 6th, as the Newport Resolution Run & Polar Bear Plunge Half Marathon/10k/5k is back. This race will take place out on Southeast Jetty Way, and all runners will get a chance to take a dip in the ocean to celebrate a race victory at the end.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys wrestling team grabbed a pair of wins to open the season Monday at the Eddyville-Blakesburg quad. The Golden Hawks blasted the English Valleys Bears 64-18. Mid-Prairie got wins in contested matches from Trevyn Riley at 106 by 15-7 major decision, Mason Howe at 126 by fall, Max Howe at 132 by fall, Tucker Miller at 138 by fall, Peyton Fox at 144 by fall, Max Kipp at 157 by fall, Jarron Thomas at 190 by fall and Burke Berry at 285 by fall.
