The Yaquina Bay Lighthouse was the earliest lighthouse created to support navigation in 1871. The lighthouse overlooks the beautiful Yaquina Bay area filled with amazing seabirds. You will find Cormorants, Grebes, Pigeon Guillemots, and circling Gulls here.

There are some magical places on Earth and Yaquina Head Natural Area in Newport, Oregon is one of them. You can find beautiful trails here, with a lovely lighthouse, and powerful ocean views with amazing marine life. While traveling across the U.S. our last night stop landed us in Newport, Oregon. I was delighted to be in this beautiful place again and was looking forward to visiting Yaquina Head.
