Man shot in Vistula dies from injuries

A man shot in the hallway of a Vistula neighborhood apartment building has died from his injuries, according to police.

Rashaad Quinn, 19, was shot Aug. 1 inside the Vistula II Heritage Apartments in the 600 block of Locust Street. He was taken to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, where he died Tuesday.

An off-duty police officer inside the building the day of the shooting reported hearing a shot around 10 a.m. and alerted authorities, but was not involved in the actual shooting.

Kaveon Vann, 20, of Blum Street, was seen fleeing the scene and was arrested and charged with having weapons under disability and tampering with evidence, police said.

Detectives continued their investigation of the shooting Wednesday.
