FOR MANY, MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND MARKS THE UNOFFICIAL START OF THE SUMMER. IT IS. AND WE LOVE IT. FOR VERONICA ANDERSON COMING TO PERRY’S PARK IN TITUSVILLE IS AN ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND TRADITION. IT IS. EVERY YEAR I LOOK FORWARD TO COMING OUT HERE WITH THE KIDS, YOU KNOW, GOT THE JET SKIS AND SHE SAYS THE PARK WILL BE BUSY PRETTY MUCH THE REST OF THE SUMMER. EVERY WEEKEND DURING THE SUMMER WITH ITS IDEAL LOCATION, RIGHT ON THE WATER, THE PARK WAS PRETTY PACKED. SO THERE WERE SOME STRATEGY INVOLVED TO GET A GOOD SPOT. I’VE BEEN OUT HERE SINCE EARLY. GOT TO GET HERE EARLY. LOTS OF FAMILIES SET UP TENTS AND SPENT THE DAY IN THE SAND OR SWIMMING, BOATING OR JET SKIING. I BRING MY BABY OUT HERE SO IT’S ALWAYS FAMILY ORDERED. A LOT OF PEOPLE COME OUT HERE EVERY YEAR. AND THE WEATHER SUNDAY MADE IT EASY TO MAKE A DAY OF IT. FAMILY AND JUST THE WEATHER. ENJOY IT AND MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND. GOD BLESS AMERICA. For many people, Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of the summer. "It is and we love it," resident Veronica Anderson said.She says coming to Parish Park in Titusville is an annual Memorial Day weekend tradition. "Every year, I look forward to coming out here with the kids," Anderson said. "You know riding the jet skis."And she says the park will be busy pretty much the rest of the summer. "Every weekend during the summer," Anderson said. With its ideal location right on the water, the park was pretty packed, so there was some strategy involved to get a good spot.Some families said they got to the park first thing Sunday morning. Lots of families set up tents and spent the whole day on the sand, swimming, boating or jet skiing. "I bring my baby out here so its always family-oriented," Renee Owens said. "A lot of people come out here every year."And the weather Sunday made it easy to make a day of it. "Family and just the weather," Pervis King said. "Enjoying the Memorial Day weekend. God Bless America." In Volusia County, Beach Safety flew the red flag Sunday. They rescued 59 people from the ocean.They say to be aware as rip currents are only going to get stronger as the week goes on.
