Mountain Line reports over 630,000 trips for 2026, record highs in senior ridership
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Mountain Line Transit Authority continues to find ways to increase ridership heading into 2027. Mountain Line General Manager Maria Smith presented details on ridership statistics as part of their annual update in front of the Morgantown City Council on Tuesday where they reported over 630,000 trips were taken by 38 vehicles during Fiscal Year 2026. This included services to 22 routes that includes an increase in high school ridership of around 19 percent with over 40,000 senior riders, an all-time recrod for a single year.

Accident on Interstate 79 South, North of Bridgeport on Monday, Involves Multiple Vehicles, Traffic Issues
According to WDTV, a multi-vehicle accident shut down the southbound road of Interstate 79 on Monday afternoon, October 19. According to Monongalia County 911 officials, emergency crews responded to a report of a multi-vehicle accident on I-79 South at mile marker 142.5 just before 5:00 P.M. Approximately three-to-five vehicles were involved in the accident, prompting for the southbound roadway to be shut down.

Adena drops alley paving plan over cost
Adena Village Council learned Oct. 13 that plans to pave an alley next to the Village Green will not move forward because of insufficient funding. WHITE HALL, W.Va (WDTV) - Emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle accident on I-79 near White Hall on Sunday afternoon. According to Marion County 911, crews responded to a call of a three-vehicle accident on I-79 northbound at mile marker 131, near the White Hall exit, at approximately 3:22 P.M.

Road Closure on I-68, Westbound, at Uffington Bridge to I-79, Southbound Tonight through Friday Morning
There will be a road closure on Interstate 68 westbound, mile marker 0.0, to Interstate 79, southbound, mile marker 149, from 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 15, 2026, until 6:00 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2026, for the removal of concrete barriers on the I-68 concrete bridge deck. Closure is being done for safety purposes.

ODOT Closes Bridge Over US 250 at Midvale
The Ohio department of transportation has closed the Barnhill Road bridge over U.S. Route 250 in Midvale a month after a commercial vehicle hauling heavy equipment struck it. ODOT District 11 public information officer Lauren Borell says earlier Tuesday, inspectors discovered cracking on a damaged beam, prompting the immediate closure of the bridge.
