Revival of the Back 9 sees rainy start

It was a wet day for golf at The Mook at Alderbrook, but that did not deter several golfers who wanted to try the 18-hole stroke play format and get a glimpse of the reworked back-9 Saturday, April 6.

Play was halted due to a rain delay with several golfers still out on the course. After the rain let up a bit, golfers finished their round and the results have been tallied.

This tournament was the first time the back-9 holes were open for the season after the course’s owners reworked those fairways. The Alderbrook team is in the middle of rebuilding the green on the 15th hole and doing several other improvements to the course.

Results:

Winning the Senior White Tee for low gross was Kevin ‘Bucky’ Beebehiser with a 78 on the day. Senior Green Tee low gross winner was Glenn Brock who shot 82. Overall low gross winner was Roby Lane who also shot 82 on the day.

Second place low gross went to Ron Holder, firing a blistering 89 for his round, and third low gross was Michael Wong who shot 94.

Low new winner was Julio Bernal with a net 72. Jack Vantress fired 73 to capture second place low net and Mike ‘Fitz’ Fitzimonds shot a net 81 good enough for third place low net.
