Powerball billionaire Edwin Castro’s girlfriend posts cryptic message about rejection a week after couple went public

EDWIN Castro’s not-so-secret girlfriend posted a cryptic message on social media just a week after the couple appeared to go Instagram-official with their relationship.

Powerball winner Edwin Castro , 32, and his love interest Payten Vincent , 24, have been spotted getting cozy in California throughout July.

Vincent posted a romantic selfie with Castro on July 17 while the two attended an event at the Soho House in Malibu .

Luxury designer Giorgio Armani hosted the event.

Vincent shared a selfie of the two at their seats and wrote, “Last night at the @giorgioarmani event at @sohohouse [heart emoji].”

Vincent had posted multiple flicks of herself at Castro’s mansion and the two have been pictured on dates in the past , but the photo marked the couple’s “hard launch” on social media .

But just over a week later, Vincent shared a cryptic message on her Instagram Stories about rejection.

She reposted a textpost that read, “If it comes, let it come. If it goes, let it go. It’s not rejection. It’s redirection.”

A song from The Smiths accompanied the post, called, Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now.

The song tells the story of a person struggling with depressive feelings.

The chorus is, “In my life, why do I give valuable time, to people who don’t care, If I live or die?”

The second verse begins with, “Two lovers entwined pass me by. And heaven knows I’m miserable now.”

MEETING THE PARENTS?

A source previously told The U.S. Sun that Castro’s relationship with Vincent was heating up.

“It seems like they are getting very serious very quickly because she knows all about his family dynamics and business affairs already,” the source said.

“He is looking to settle down very much, he is apparently not a one-night stand guy.

“She’s meeting the parents soon and has already met his brother and brother’s girlfriend from high school ,” they added.

Castro and Vincent were also photographed on a hiking date just last week.

They strolled at Runyon Canyon in Los Angeles with another couple, who sources told The U.S. Sun is Castro’s cousin and his girlfriend.

When and why Castro got sued

On November 7, 2022, Castro bought a winning Powerball ticket at Joe’s Service Center in Altadena, California.

The grand prize was $2.04 billion at the time – the largest in US history.

On February 14, 2023, the California Lottery announced Castro’s win, and he took home a one-time lump sum payment of $997.6 million.

Castro’s identity was released, but little information was known about the former mechanic.

In May 2023, Jose Rivera, a gardener from California, filed a lawsuit claiming that he was the rightful owner of the golden ticket.

Rivera claimed his former landlord Urachi F. Romero stole the ticket before it ended up in Castro’s hands.

Since filing the suit, Rivera has been charged with filing a false police report and was ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation by a judge.

However, Rivera pleaded not guilty to the charge, passed the evaluation, and continues to defend his story.

GETTING TO KNOW THE COUPLE

Castro is the biggest Powerball winner in American history, cashing out on $2.04 billion in November 2022.

He worked as a mechanic before becoming an overnight billionaire .

Castro has since been challenged as Jose Rivera claimed he was the rightful winner of the cash.

Rivera, a Los Angeles gardener, sued Castro weeks after his win, alleging that he had purchased the ticket before it was stolen.

Rivera said he signed the back of the ticket and Castro stole it.

The back of the ticket was later revealed to be left without a signature.

Amidst the legal battle, Castro has been pictured multiple times with Vincent.

She described herself in her Instagram bio as, “a poet in the city of angels.”

Vincent grew up in Cape Cod, Massachusetts , and attended college in Maine , before moving to California.

She also models and is active on her social media accounts.
