Welp, there it is! Shannon Sharpe is taking accountability for accidentally joining IG Live while being intimate with a mystery woman. Additionally, he clarified the “hacked” message shared from his Instagram account hours after the incident.

Shannon Sharpe Says He’s “Embarrassed” By His Viral Intimate IG Live Session

On Wednesday (Sept. 11), screen-recorded clips surfaced across social media platforms, namely X (formerly Twitter), of two people involved in an intimate moment . The clips originated from an IG Live on Shannon Sharpe’s account but didn’t show the faces or bodies of the man and woman involved. Instead, the visual appeared to be some kind of surface, while the audio featured moaning and sexual talking.

Hours after the clips went viral, a statement appeared on Shannon’s IG Stories. It claimed that Sharpe’s account had been hacked and that his team was looking into the incident. The post was signed “Unc.”

Now, in a new conversation with ‘Night Cap’ co-host Chad Ochocinco, the former pro-athlete has admitted he was the man heard in the video and that nobody hacked his account. Shannon Sharpe’s IG Live was just an unfortunate incident that he’s now feeling “embarrassed” about.

“Obviously, I’m embarrassed someone that is extremely, extremely private and to have one of your most intimate details, the audio heard for the entire world to hear, I’m embarrassed for a number of reasons. People count on Shannon to be professional at all times,” Shannon said to Chad.

Sharpe added that he tries to maintain his professionalism, even “behind closed doors.” In the aftermath of his exposing IG Live, Shannon Sharpe said he’s “very disappointed” in himself. He clarified that he was not disappointed about committing the act, just that the world heard it and spread it online.

Shannon Says He Did Not Stage The Incident

Also, Sharpe revealed that he called his sister, and that his friends reached out after the incident.

“This was not staged. Came in I threw my phone on the bed, engaged in an activity. I did not know IG Live, I’ve never been on IG Live, I’ve never turned IG Live on,” Shannon Sharpe added. “So I don’t know how it works. All of a sudden, my other phone is going off and people are calling me, FaceTime that I’ve never talked to a day in my life.”

After a while, he connected the dots with the help of the folks blowing him up and explaining the situation to him. Sharpe says someone on his team named Jordan had cut the IG Live off and posted the statement. Meanwhile, he immediately addressed the situation with ESPN and his agency, admitting the truth right away.

“Man, my heart sank. It dropped,” Shannon said. “My phone wasn’t hacked. It wasn’t a prank. It was me being a healthy, active male,” he said.
