4th of July Raspberry Trifle Cups: Easy and Delicious!
2024-07-02
This Raspberry Trifle Cups Recipe is just perfect for upcoming 4th of July backyard barbecues and weekends on the beach celebrating! I don't know about you, but I relish any opportunity to gather the friends and family around and celebrate ANYTHING! It's just so much fun to entertain, or even to help out with a fun little dessert option when someone else is hosting a party.
Raspberry Trifle Cups
This Raspberry Trifle Cups Recipe is one of those perfect desserts because it doesn't require a lot of effort, but it looks amazing! That raspberry flavor is a nice change from the ever so popular strawberry! Isn't it always nice to shake things up a bit when it comes to summertime desserts? I love to surprise people with unexpected flavors! Aren't they just adorable?
You can use any type of serving dish, you can even make just one giant dessert bowl full of the trifle...but I always think that individual servings present well and it makes it easier to actually serve them - everyone just grabs one when they're ready!
Just thinking about them makes me want to make another batch! Do you have any special Independence Day holiday treats that you like to make for your family? Do you go with the Red White and Blue theme too? It just feels appropriate for me...it's totally an American holiday!
How to make our Raspberry Trifle Cups Recipe
Here are the Ingredients you will need to make our Raspberry Trifle Cups Recipe
1 bag frozen raspberries 10 oz, thawed
1 box raspberry JELL-O - this is the 3 oz box, or the "small box"
1 tub whipped topping - an entire 8 oz container
2 cups of water, divided
Fresh Strawberries, washed, stemmed and sliced thin
Fresh Raspberries, washed
Fresh Blueberries, washed
Fresh Mint - if desired
Directions for how to make our Raspberry Trifle Cups Recipe
Begin by draining the raspberries as best as you can, and keep in mind that you're going to want to reserve the liquid. Measure the liquid! I had ½ cup. Set this liquid aside, because you're going to use it later!
Add 1 cup boiling water to the JELL-O. Stir it until the powder is completely until dissolved.
Now here's where that raspberry liquid comes into play!
You are going to add your reserved raspberry liquid and as much additional cold water you need to make 1 cup. For example, I had ½ cup raspberry juice, so I added ½ cup cold water. Depending on how much raspberry liquid you had, you just add enough cold water until it reaches 1 cup. Then stir it together well to combine.
Please note: If you are using fresh raspberries instead of frozen, you won't have any liquid. You will just use 1 cup of water.
Now, add the thawed raspberries to the mixture and mix them together well. Pour your mixture into mini trifle bowls and refrigerate for about 2-4 hours until the JELL-O is completely firmed and set up.
Top with cool whip, fresh berries and mint, if you like! Serve these little trifles immediately, or keep them in the fridge without the toppings for up to 3 days, adding the toppings when you are ready to serve them!
This super easy no bake dessert recipe makes 3 trifle bowls, as shown.
