Sierra Jane Inscoe, 22, of Prentiss, has pleaded guilty to murder for shooting and killing Carson Sistrunk in Jefferson Davis County on Sept. 4, 2022. The plea came before 15th Circuit Court Judge Richelle Lumpkin on July 16.

Lumpkin sentenced Inscoe shortly after the guilty plea at the Marion County Courthouse. She was ordered to serve 40 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections with 35 of those years having to be served without the possibility of parole or early release.

Assistant District Attorneys Reginald “Chip” Lewis and Laurel Brinkley prosecuted the case.

Sistrunk’s body was found the morning Sept. 7, 2022, on Gulf Camp Road by pipeline workers. Sistrunk, 24, was reported missing Sept. 4, 2022, by the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department.

A family member posted on social media that he had gone to meet a female he had been communicating with on Snapchat.

Prior to Sistrunk’s discovery, his truck, a Ford Raptor, was located in Jefferson Davis County with Inscoe driving.

Jefferson Davis County Justice Court Judge Calvin Graves denied Inscoe’s bond on Sept. 14, 2022. She was indicted by a Jefferson Davis County Grand Jury in August 2023.

“I would like to thank all of the local and state law enforcement agencies that worked together investigating this case,” said 15th Circuit District Attorney Hal Kittrell.

“Thanks to their hard work, we were able to take a violent individual off the streets and show that there are severe consequences for those who do harm to others in Jefferson Davis County. Though nothing can bring Mr. Sistrunk back, it is my sincere hope that family can find some closure in this resolution,” he said.

There are evil people around and can do people great harm, if something seems suspicious, obey your protective instincts. She drove around in his truck, told Old Hebron Grocery employees that she bought the truck, cheap. They knew she was lying, such an expensive truck. She felt no remorse!
