Mariah Carey walks Great Wall of China in heels with kids weeks after mother and sister's death

Mariah Carey walked the Great Wall of China in styl e.

The singer posted some pictures on X, formerly known as Twitter, of her and her two kids, Monroe and Moroccan , posing on the Great Wall of China. In the post, she wore a black dress, butterfly jewelry, oversized sunglasses and heels, which she revealed that she regretted. Her hair was styled up with her bangs on the side.

Her twins on the other hand, kept it casual. Moroccan wore a graphic T-shirt and baggy shorts, while Monroe wore an Olivia Rodrigo tour merch . In the post, Mariah captioned: "At the Great Wall of China! Someone should’ve warned me about heels [heels emoji] (not that I would’ve listened)."

In the carousel of pictures, Mariah was seen smiling as she peered over her sunglasses in front of the iconic monument and threw an arm in the air. She also posted another picture sliding her sunglasses down, flirting with the camera, with the Great Wall of China behind. A video later showed Mariah going up the stairs with help from her security, making sure she was able to walk and not get hurt.

People on X were not surprised to see the singer walking the 13,171 miles long wall in heels and were left impressed. One person wrote: "only mariah carey would walk the great wall of china in heels (and actually be able to do it)." Another person wrote: "First woman to walk the Great Wall in heels. Another day, another record for the Queen!."

A third user commented: "There’s no way you wore heels the whole time. are your feet ok?" A fourth commented: "i want to see the full video of every step in heels cause i def believe she was carried up to the end if not that’s dope work."

Many other Mariah fans were happy to see the singer out and about with her children afte r both her sister and mother died. She confirmed the tragic news to PEOPLE in late August, saying: "My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day. I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed. I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time."
