Ariana Grande's boyfriend Ethan Slater officially divorced ex Lilly Jay

Ariana Grande is now dating a newly divorced man .

The singer started dating Ethan Slater is the summer of 2023 after meeting each other when filming the upcoming film Wicked. At the time when they met, Ariana was married to real estate agent Dalton Gomez , and Ethan was with his high school sweetheart Lilly Jay. On July 20, it was revealed that Ariana and Ethan were an item after getting close while working on Wicked, which confused many because they were still "officially married" to their partners.

Ariana filed for divorce from Dalton on September 2023 after two years of marriage and six days later, Ethan filed for divorce from Lilly.

Ethan and Lilly's divorce finalized on Thursday, September 12, after five years of marriage, according to TMZ . The terms of the settlement are sealed. The former couple began dating in 2012. They married in November 2018 and share one child, a son, whom they welcomed in August 2022.

Ethan and Ariana's realtionship raised eyebrows and many called her a "home wrecker" and a "mistress." She proved to the world that their words did not phase her and she was happy with her life when releasing the song, "yes, and?" The song asks why everyone is so interested in her personal life, though some people online thought she was embracing the "home wrecker" label that was to given her.

Some questioned why Ariana "liked" one of Ethan's Instagram posts, wishing his wife at the time a Happy Mother's Day and still getting with a married man. In February, Ariana Grande visited The Zach Sang Show and opened up about the gossip. Zach asked if there was anything she wished people knew, to which she responded: "Plenty. We don't have enough time."

She added: "I feel like we don't need to go into any specifics, but, of course, there's like an insatiable frustration, inexplicable, hellish feeling with watching people, misunderstand the people you love and you and anything."

Ariana also explained how her album "touched on things that are real and then pieces of it were part of the concept."
