Kate Middleton shared that her chemotherapy treatment came to an end, but she's still recovering.

The Princess of Wales took a step back from royal duties to focus on her health after announcing she had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer back in March. She has been undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment .

She said in a video statement: "The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we’ve had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown. The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you."

The royal went on to explain that her journey is not yet complete. Kate said: "Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes."

Kate has since made a slow return to the public eye and was seen enjoying the Trooping of the Colour with her family as well as a trip to Wimbledon with her daughter. She explained in the video that she'll be easing back into her royal duties in due time with some upcoming public appearances.

"Despite all that’s gone before, I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life," she said. The Princess still evaded answering details about her diagnosis, opting to focus instead on her advancing health and putting this difficult roadblock behind both herself and her family.

With a sense of gratitude, Kate added: "William and I are so grateful for the support we’ve received and have drawn great strength from those who are helping us at this time. Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling. To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey, I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness can come light, so let that light shine bright."

Kate's initial video message in March sent fans into shock as they sent well-wishes her way. After Kate was seen out of the limelight, fans had an eerie feeling something was wrong, so the Princess cleared up confusion. In a video at the time, she confessed: "It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I've had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful. In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous."

She explained that, at the time of the surgery, they had no idea there would be cancer present. When that discovery was made, the opted for the preventative chemo.

I would think if she had stomach surgery it could be stomach cancer.
