Death row killer Garcia White killed mom-of-two before stabbing and raping her twin daughters, 16

Texas serial killer Garcia Glen White is slated for execution Oct. 1 for the murder of five individuals including his former girlfriend and her twin daughters whom he raped and stabbed to death .

In June, a judge signed an order dictating that White, 51, a former football player, would be executed by lethal injection Oct 1 for the heinous slayings of twin sisters Annette and Bernette Edwards, 16, shortly after killing their mother Bonita. The case went cold until 1995 when authorities received a tip after the death of a convenience store clerk, in which White was the prime suspect.

Law enforcement officials also tied the 51-year-old to the death of another woman in 1989. Interestingly, he was convicted only on the gruesome rape and stabbing of the twin girls, not Bonita, the store clerk or the aforementioned woman.

White kept his nose clean during the majority of his 20s but was accused of going on a murder spree between 1989 and 1995 when the Houston resident killed five people during three separate instances. However, it was the second incident of those three, easily the most heinous, that sent the convicted killer to death row.

In 1989, White was smoking crack cocaine at Bonita's home when the two erupted into an argument. At one point, his angered boiled over, prompting him to pull a knife and stab the mom-of-two repeatedly in the neck and chest. Annette and Bernette, hearing their mother's cries, ran out their room to find their mom's bloodied corpse.

The twins tried to evade the killer to no avail as White stabbed them both to death. According to Texas Attorney General's office, the girls may have tried to barricade themselves in their bedroom as evident by the door, which showed signs of forced entry. The bodies of all three women were found days later by King Solomon who was dating Bonita.

Bernette had a towel wrapped around her neck and shoved into her mouth. Annette's body was lying facedown, partially nude, with a pillow beneath her head and a blanket partially covering her. Authorities would later learn that Annette's body showed signs of sexual assault.

It took six years for White to be arrested and charged for the murder of the teen twins. In 1995, police questioned Tecumseh Manuel, the 51-year-old's friend and accomplice, about a robbery that resulted in the death of shop owner Hai Pham. Manuel informed authorities of all White's murders—the Edwards, Pham and Greta Williams who was a prostitute.

The former athlete was brought in and confessed to all the murders. While he was solely charged for the murder of Bonita's daughters, prosecutors used the murder of Williams and Pham to cast the killer as a danger to society. The judge promptly sentenced White to death in 1996.
