NASHVILLE — Two adults and a teenager are accused of fatally shooting a man during a robbery attempt early Saturday.

Nash County sheriff’s deputies say 20-year-old Elijah Kevon Battle and 21-year-old Yasun Jaquavious Powell, both of Rocky Mount, turned themselves in Monday on charges of first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon. A 17-year-old who will face the same charges was arrested Saturday evening.

Battle, Powell and the juvenile suspect tried to rob Caleb Turner of his gun during a large house party at 1971 Exum Road north of Nashville, according to Sgt. Macie Hasty.

“During this attempted robbery, shots were fired at the victim, ultimately striking and killing him,” Hasty said in a Tuesday news release.

Deputies were called to the Exum Road home at 3:16 a.m. and attempted lifesaving measures before medics pronounced Turner deceased. Hasty said he suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Battle and Powell were jailed without bond in separate detention centers. The 17-year-old suspect was remanded to a secure-custody facility.

“This investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are likely forthcoming,” Hasty said.

Anyone with information on Caleb Turner’s homicide is asked to call the Nash County Sheriff’s Office at 252-459-4121.

If they committed this crime I hope they are NEVER released from prison and they don't get any Vaseline either. I hope their time in prison is nothing but total torture.
