Nash man charged with sex crimes

NASHVILLE — A Nash County man has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting two minor children.

Louis Joseph Dreyfus, 60, of Sandy Cross Road south of Nashville, was apprehended without incident on Tuesday after detectives with the Nash County Sheriff’s Office and the Rocky Mount Police Department obtained warrants for his arrest.

Rocky Mount police notified the NCSO Special Victims Unit of its investigation on July 11. Detectives developed Dreyfus as the suspect following a series of forensic interviews at Jo Ann’s Place — Nash, Edgecombe, Wilson Children’s Advocacy Center.

Dreyfus faces four counts each of committing a felony sex offense and taking indecent liberties with a child. He was jailed without bond in the Nash County Detention Center pending court proceedings.
