Meet NorthJersey.com's adoptable pets of the week for August 9!

Each week, NorthJersey.com would like to highlight two adoptable animals from local shelters and rescues .

This week we are featuring Beauty and Vanna from Peace4Paws in Westwood.

Beauty

Beauty is a hound mix who is between 7 and 8 years old. She can be described as affectionate, athletic, friendly, loyal, playful, mellow and a couch potato.

Beauty was one of the lucky dogs that Peace4Paws was able to save from an overcrowded shelter in Kentucky, just before she was euthanized. She arrived in New Jersey on May 19 and is already spayed and up to date on her vaccines.

Now, she is poised to embark on a new chapter of her life filled with love, safety and endless tail wags.

Beauty promises to be the perfect companion for anyone lucky enough to welcome her into their family and home. She loves being outside, playing with other dogs and would love to have a fenced in yard. She is food motivated but shows absolutely no food aggression, enjoying her meals with all of the dogs in the home.

Beauty has a good time at doggy day care and makes friends wherever she goes. She is also housebroken which will allow for a smooth transition into a new home.

Vanna

Vanna, formerly known as Nirvana, is a hound shepherd mix with a heart of gold. She is 2 years old and can be described as affectionate, friendly and gentle.

Vanna was rescued in Mississippi along with her puppies and has proven to be an exceptional mother. Her gentle nature and nurturing instincts have not only helped her raise her pups but also reveal her potential to be great with children. She loves kids and is also dog and cat friendly.

She is housebroken and is currently loving life with her foster mom but would love a forever home even more. Vanna is spayed, fully vetted, and up to date on her shots. She arrived in New Jersey on June 29.

Vanna is cuddly, affectionate, easy to handle, and full of love. She would love nothing more than a fenced in yard, someone to love and a permanent home.
