Resurfacing project to impact I-70 traffic in Terre Haute throughout the summer

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A $12 million resurfacing project will soon be affecting traffic along I-70 through the Terre Haute area.

That’s according to INDOT, who said the lane restrictions will begin on or after Friday, April 7, and run throughout the entire summer.

Lane and shoulder restrictions should be expected at times in both the eastbound and westbound lanes. The area affected by this project runs from the Illinois/Indiana state line to SR 641.

INDOT said work will begin in the westbound lanes before transitioning to the eastbound lanes, but that a 12-foot lane will always remain open for through traffic.

The project is expected to be finished in early September. Rieth Riley Construction will be handling the project which involves an HMA Overlay, as well as bridge deck maintenance.
