TEMPLE, Texas (FOX 44/KWKT) – UPDATE: The deceased man in the traffic-related death in Temple has been identified.
The Temple Police Department has identified the deceased as 47-year-old Daniel Hosler. Officers originally shut down a portion of Interstate 35 on Thursday night in order to investigate the traffic-related death.
It started with a call around 9:10 p.m. about a person running through vehicles near the 5200 block of Interstate 35 South. According to witnesses, the man – identified as Hosler – tried to open several different vehicle doors.
Officers say at one point, Hosler climbed on top of an 18-wheeler and then fell to the ground. When First Responders got there, they say Hosler was dead.
The investigation shut down a section of I-35S – with traffic being diverted to the southbound frontage road. Temple Police said the main lanes would not be open for the next few hours.
