Dollar General Market coming to Beulaville
BEULAVILLE — A Dollar General Market is coming to Beulaville in the early summer. The company's announcement came with surprise, as a Dollar General already is in town on Jackson Street. Construction is underway and the new store will focus more on carrying food and groceries, according to officials. The DG Market is located at 2976 E. N.C. 24 in Beulaville and plans to wrap up construction in the next few months, officials said. Up to 15 roles will be posted in the near future for available staffing positions at the grocery store which can be found online at careers.dollargeneral.com
Driver injured in rollover crash near Castle Hayne

(WECT) - Crews responded to a rollover crash on I-140 near Castle Hayne Thursday morning, March 28, according to New Hanover County Fire Rescue. “Rescue 11 and Engine 17 reported to a traffic incident this morning where they had to perform a vehicle extrication on I-140 outside of Castle Hayne,” an announcement from NHC Fire Rescue states.

Woman charged after shots fired near Pender County park
BURGAW, N.C. (WECT) - A Currie woman has been arrested after a gun was fired near Pender Memorial Park Tuesday evening. According to Burgaw police, a fight occurred in the 500 block of W Hayes Street at around 6:20 p.m. and a family member of one of the people involved in the fight fired a gun in the air to “break up the fight.” An officer with the department was reportedly in Pender Memorial Park when the shot went off and he called for backup.
