SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Down Home by DeBoers in Tea got an unexpected jolt Saturday afternoon.

The business’s chief operating officer Zoe Hill said she was just arriving to work when her coworkers said “she would not believe what had happened.”

Hill said her coworkers said a car crashed into the business. Co-workers said it sounded “like a train,” causing them and people from the Starbucks next door to check out the incident.

Thankfully, no furniture was destroyed, she said. A few items had some scratches from glass and debris and Hill said she’s planning a “scratch and dent sale.”

The majority of the damage was in the structure of the building with some minor cracks.

Hill said the Tea Fire Department “gave them the green light” to allow people to come into the shop while the store is getting repairs.

Down Home by DeBoers plans to open early this week and hopes the shop will be fully repaired by the grand opening July 13.

“If not, we’ll have a great photo-op to use,” Hill said.

Hill said to check their social media for updates on when they would be open. People can also access  ‘Down Home by DeBoers’ website .

Tea assistant fire chief Bob Venard said the crash did not appear to be related to any medical issues for the driver. The driver was not injured, Venard said.

Firefighters, along with a tow truck responded to the scene
