Tampa Traffic Alert: Broken Water Main Shuts Down Southbound Lane On Henderson Boulevard
By Matt Rife,
2026-09-21TAMPA, Fla. — A broken water pipe has closed a southbound section of Henderson Boulevard as utility crews begin emergency repairs on Monday morning.
The closure started at 10:30 a.m. along the outside southbound lane and the adjacent sidewalk between South Bradford Avenue and West Cleveland Street. Workers with the Tampa Water Department are currently on the scene making repairs to the line.
City officials placed barricades and warning signs along the corridor to guide drivers through the narrowed roadway. Motorists traveling through the area should slow down and watch for road workers. City staff noted that work zones and lane setups could change while crews dig and repair the pipe.
Repairs and full road reopening are scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, by 4:00 p.m., though bad weather could delay the timeline. Officials also noted that utility crews might have to return at a later date for extra maintenance, and the city will post an update if more closures are required.
