USF Women’s Soccer Announces 2023 Schedule

TAMPA, Fla., May 30, 2023 – The University of South Florida women's soccer team, who looks to make their way back to the American Athletic Conference Championship after falling in the 2022 semifinals, announced its 2023 schedule, slated to begin on August 5 at Corbett Stadium.
 
USF will play each of the six new AAC institutions, with four being played at home. Seven of South Florida's 16 matches will be non-conference matches, highlighted by three Power 5 matchups, including former conference foe, Central Florida and the 2021 National Champions, Florida State.
 
The Bulls will have two exhibition matches prior to the regular season. USF will start the season with Jacksonville on August 5. Five days later, they head to DeLand for a match against Stetson.
 
South Florida opens their regular season with a two-match road trip over to the Bayou. The Bulls will go head-to-head with SEC member, Louisiana State (Aug.17) followed by a match against Louisiana Lafayette (Aug. 20).
 
On August 24, USF will face Alabama A&M for the first time since 2011 for their 2023 home opener before starting a four-match road trip.  
 
Three of the four road matches will be in the state of Florida, starting with FGCU on August 27. The Bulls travel to Tallahassee for a match against the national powerhouse, FSU on September 3.
 
South Florida will face UCF on September 10 for the first non-conference War on I-4 in Orlando. The Bulls will cap off their road trip and kick off conference play when they head to Temple to face the Owls on Sept. 14.
 
One week later, South Florida opens a three-match home stand against Charlotte (Sept. 21), Gonzaga (Sept. 24), and East Carolina (Sept. 28).
 
The Bulls will head to UAB for a road match on October 5 before returning home for two matches against North Texas (Oct. 12) and SMU (Oct. 15).
 
USF will close out their regular season road matches with a trip to Texas. While in the Lone Star state, the Bulls will face AAC newcomers Rice (Oct. 19) and Texas at San Antonio (Oct. 22). USF is undefeated against the Owls and the Roadrunners.  
 
The Green and Gold will complete the regular season at home against Florida Atlantic on October 26.

Denise Schilte-Brown. The Bulls made their first NCAA tournament appearance in 2010 and returned in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021. South Florida has five consecutive seasons with a conference championship, earning the tournament title in 2017, 2019 and 2020 as well as the regular-season title in 2018, 2020 and 2021. The program had its first draft pick and second-highest pick in USF Athletics history with Evelyne Viens being taken with the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NWSL Draft by Sky Blue FC, now Gotham FC.
