Two Tampa Bay Ben and Jerry’s locations are giving away free ice cream

To say thank you to ice cream fans, Ben and Jerry’s Scoop Shops around the world will serve up a free scoop of ice cream in a cup or cone from noon to 8 p.m. April 3.

Ben and Jerry’s has two Tampa Bay area Scoop Shop locations, and both will be participating: 1106 Gramercy Lane, Tampa, 813-774-6244; and 409 Mandalay Ave., Clearwater Beach, 727-335-3708.

Can’t decide what flavor you want? That’s okay. You can get in line again and again and get as many flavors as you want.

Ben and Jerry’s started Free Cone Day in 1979 in its first location, a renovated gas station in Burlington, Vermont. It has grown to an eight-hour global celebration.
