The strong right arm of Garrett Harper put a stop to Clay's playoff march.

Harper fired a two-hit shutout and top-seeded Tallahassee Lincoln won a twice-postponed Region 1-5A championship in the Florida High School Athletic Association baseball playoffs, eliminating Clay 2-0 on Wednesday night.

The Chipola College commit was nearly unhittable all night, striking out six.

Sophomore Lucas Cannady delivered both runs for the Trojans (18-11), hitting a bases-loaded double in the third inning to bring home Myles Bailey and Chase Fuller with the only runs the hosts would need.

Jacksonville University commit Easton McMahan worked his way out of trouble several times for Clay (18-10), but the Blue Devils couldn't challenge Harper for most of the night.

Cole Carnell threatened to ignite a Clay rally with a double in the sixth, but Harper forced two fly outs to end the inning.
