TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - An semi-truck overturned on I-10 westbound near mile marker 198 after it crashed into a pickup truck, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The semi-truck ran off the highway and struck a pickup stopped on the shoulder Friday morning at about 10:30, according to a press release sent Friday night by FHP. Several vehicles the semi-truck was carrying spilled off the 18-wheeler during the wreck.

FHP previously told WCTV the wreck involved multiple vehicles and an undetermined number of drivers, but clarified in its Friday night statement that many of the vehicles involved fell from the semi-truck.

Emergency responders transported the pickup truck driver, a 60-year-old Tallahassee man, to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital for non-fatal injuries, according to the statement. The 30-year-old Miami man driving the 18-wheeler was not injured.

All westbound lanes on the roadway closed through early Friday afternoon and troopers rerouted traffic as they cleared the scene, FHP spokesperson Patricia Jefferson-Shaw said.

The Leon County Sheriff’s Office shared photos of the crash, showing a tractor-trailer overturned near a mangled guardrail. FHP said fire crews used a crane to get the truck upright.

FHP will continue investigating the crash, according to the statement.
