An armed carjacking was reported on Thursday at the Marathon Gas station located in the 6400 block of New Hampshire Avenue, Takoma Park Police Department said.
The victim was about to enter his vehicle when he was cornered by two men, both wearing black ski masks and dark clothing, police said. The men struck the victim's face with a gun and demanded the keys to the victim's vehicle at gunpoint. The victim complied and gave up their vehicle to the men.
The men fled the gas station in the victim's vehicle, heading towards D.C., police said. Despite the assault, the victim was not seriously physically injured.
The vehicle has been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) stolen vehicle database.
