The small town of Wishek is preparing for a big event on Wednesday. The 99th annual Wishek Sauerkraut Day takes place on Wednesday. The vendor shows start at 10 in the morning. Then, the famous sauerkraut feed will be at the Civic Center from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm. The Wishek Public School students will perform traditional German entertainment, and there will be live music during and after the feed. The small event brings in hundreds of visitors each year from the region, and is a tourism boon to the community. KSJB Radio will be broadcasting live from the event from 10-Noon.

On October 4th, the Boys headed up 83 to Herreid to participate in a Friday Night football homecoming game for the 2-4 Herreid/Selby Wolverines. Herreid/Selby started off tough this season with decisive wins over Faith (46-8) and Northwestern (50-0), but then came up well short in their next four games against Faulkton Area (8-46), Lemmon/ McIntosh (24-30), Timber Lake (14-38), and Ipswich (32-58). So, considering the Wolverines’ less than impressive record, the Battlers were hungry to get things going when the lights flickered on the Herreid High School’s football field.
