TCSS On “Heightened Awareness” After News of Possible Threat
Thursday morning, the Tuscaloosa County School System released a statement regarding student safety. In the statement, TCSS revealed a possible threat to schools nationwide. "We implement the Heightened Awareness mode of our TCSS Safety Plan when a potential MAY exist for an unusual situation, and everyone should have heightened awareness to react as needed," the statement read.

Rise Center preschool program celebrates 50 years at University of Alabama
Children ran through bubbles with abandon. Carnival-style rides put smiles on faces and magic was in the air as magicians and jugglers entertained at the 50th anniversary celebration for the Rise Center on Sept. 28 in Tuscaloosa. The Rise Center started in 1974 with a federal grant to provide early intervention services to preschool children.
