NEWBERG, Oregon (October 6, 2024) - The Loggers (4-3-2, 3-1-2 NWC) were unable to top George Fox in a tight 0-1 conference contest earlier today. The Bruins struck early, scoring off a header in the 10th minute of play. Despite 12 shots from the Loggers and 11 more from the Bruins, Connor Kong's goal was the only one recorded for the match. Puget Sound also had 9 corner kick opportunities but facing a tough Bruins defense, the Loggers were unable to convert. Logger goalie Luke Mamiya made 7 saves to give the team a fighting chance.

Sunday morning, runners and officials took to the streets for what may be the biggest Portland Marathon in years.

Wilsonville has gone 3-0 against Canby recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Wildcats faces off against the Canby Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Wilsonville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 31.5 points per game this season.

NEWBERG, Oregon (October 6th, 2024) - Women's Soccer (4-4-2, 4-1-1 NWC) made their way back to Tacoma with a win, and Leila Hausia-Haugen had the biggest reason to smile. With her first hat trick as a Logger, the junior and current season's leading goal-scorer kept the George Fox defense on high alert. George Fox may have scored first, but as the clock passed the 41 minute mark, Hausia-Haugen was first assisted by Kya Scott to tie the match 1-1. Then, only three minutes later, Zoe Fowler found Hausia-Haugen again, who put the Loggers up 2-1. Halftime came and went, and the Loggers still pressed the Bruins. Again in the 65th minute, Hausia-Haugen found the back of the net, scoring the third and final goal goal the Loggers.

The Wildcats are hungry to keep the momentum rolling this week with matches against George Fox and Willamette. The injury bug continues to bite the Pacific volleyball team. Missing four key contributors, the Boxers fell 3-0 to Willamette Tuesday night inside the Stoller Center. After a disastrous start, Pacific rallied from down 23-13 to tie the first set 24-24. Mara Murphy had five kills in the 11-1 run. The Boxers then grabbed a 28-27 lead on an Emma Velchek kill before the Bearcats went on a 3-0 run to win the first set 30-28.

The OSAA delegate assembly on Monday voted to designate girls flag football as an emerging activity. The sport met the threshold of 25 schools to be eligible for the vote. It will be considered an emerging activity for the next two years, and if it reaches 50 schools by the end of that period, it would be eligible to become an officially sanctioned OSAA sport.

The Tualatin football team opened Three Rivers League play with a loss on the road against Lake Oswego on Oct. 4. It was a marquee matchup in Lake Oswego, as both teams cruised through their non-league play to set up the matchup between 4-0 teams ranked in the top five in various state rankings.

SALEM, Ore. -- Pacific's cross country women and men had another fantastic meet with 55 percent of the team achieving a personal record. Hosted by Willamette University at Bush Pasture Park/McCulloch Stadium, the 49th Annual Charles Bowles Willamette XC Invitational saw almost 500 athletes compete. Out of 25 complete teams, the Boxer men placed 16th with 489 points, finishing in front of conference teams Pacific Lutheran, Linfield, and Lewis and Clark. The women finished in 15th out of 21 complete teams with 411 points.
