After a string of four wins, Mountain View Prep's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Pickens Blue Flame by a score of 2-1. While the Stars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Blue Flame 25-23 in the first set.

On Friday, the Mesa Jackrabbits earned a 2-0 victory over the Sacred Heart Prep Gators. Mesa's not only won, but also showed off some consistency: keeping Sacred Heart Prep to exactly 17 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-17.

The University of Nevada, Reno plans to host a match against the San Jose State Spartans women's volleyball team next week, but it's unclear if any Nevada athletes will show up.

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The University of Nevada Reno has just become the fifth school to forfeit their upcoming women's volleyball match against San Jose State University. UNR however is the only school so far to publicly state why they have forfeited. "We demand that our right to safety and fair competition on the court be upheld. We refuse to participate in any match that advances injustice against female athletes." BSU is among the five schools that forfeited their match, though they have not yet publicly stated why.
