AROOSTOOK COUNTY, Maine (WAGM) - The PVC Class B Golf Championship was held today at Presque Isle Country Club. The Fall foliage was a bonus for the golfers. Nate Baker of Old Town with the long putt on 18, he was the co-medalist with a 76. Nick Lavigne of Presque Isle just misses the putt on 14, he also had a 76. Alize Korzekwa of Presque Isle was the girl’s medalist. She shot a 93 and qualified for the States as an individual. Other County golfers in the top five were Ryan Blackstone of Presque Isle he shot an 80, Matt Pelletier of Caribou and Logan Caron of Presque Isle tied for 4th with 81. Presque Isle defended their crown as PVC Champions. They ended with a 327, 20 strokes ahead of Old Town. Caribou was third. The three teams now advance to the States next Saturday. Matt Madore of Presque Isle was the Coach of the Year. Lavigne and Baker were the Co-players of the year and Korzekwa was the girl’s player of the year.
