Police continue investigation into murder of Millington man
MILLINGTON — Police are continuing to work on the investigation into the death of a Millington man. According to a statement issued by the Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff on Oct. 11, at approximately 6:17 pm, deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Pfalzgroff Road in Millington for a report of a medical emergency. Port Deposit house destroyed; seven dogs perish in fire
PORT DEPOSIT — The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal continues to investigate a Saturday evening fire that destroyed a Post Road home and killed seven dogs. The fire at 16 Post Road was reported just before 7:30 p.m. Volunteers from the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun sent 50 firefighters to the scene and got the fire knocked down in 45 minutes. The fire had been discovered by residents, who told investigators it began in the kitchen. The family is being assisted by the Red Cross. Damage has been estimated at $250,000.

Car rolls back, strikes woman near Newark
A 32-year-old woman was seriously injured Saturday morning when she was struck by a car near Newark. The incident happened shortly before 9:30 a.m. at a self-storage facility in the 600 block of Old Harmony Road. The woman was walking between two cars when one rolled back and hit her, briefly trapping her between them, according to Leslie V. Antonelli-Hobbs, a spokesperson for New Castle County Paramedics. The woman was taken to Christiana Hospital to be treated for injuries to her extremities and possible internal injuries. She was listed in serious condition. State troopers are investigating the crash.
