Hays High hosted Dodge City for Homecoming on Friday night. The Indians were looking for their first home win of the season. Dodge City held the ball on the game's opening drive for nearly four minutes before punting the ball away. Hays took over on their own 40 and had possession for the next 7:05. The drive took 15 plays and resulted in a one yard fourth down touchdown plunge by quarterback Carter Graham. The Indians converted on fourth down three times on the drive and third down once. The extra point missed.

The Emporia State volleyball team won a back-and-forth battle in five sets over Fort Hays State 25-22, 22-25, 25-16, 17-25, 15-9 at Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays, Kan. on Saturday. E-State hit .257 in the first set but was held to just .086 in the second. The Lady Hornets got clicking with 17 kills and just three errors in the third to hit .500 before the Tigers responded with just three miscues and 14 kills in the fourth. The ESU defense locked up the decisive race to 15 by holding FHSU to just -.059 and just three kills with four errors in the fifth frame. Rayishon Jackman led three Lady Hornets in double figures with 19 kills while Camilla Ossola added 18 and Brailee Bogle notched 57 assists. Jackman went for a double-double leading the defense with 17 digs while McKenya Sorrells and Mia Frisbie each had four blocks. ESU (12-5, 4-3 MIAA) continues a five-game road trip to Central Missouri Friday. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.

HAYS, Kan. – Fort Hays State held Washburn to just 59 yards and no points in the second half and defeated the Ichabods 38-7 Saturday night at Lewis Field. The Tigers outscored Washburn 28-0 in the second half as they moved to 5-2 overall and 3-2 in the MIAA. The Ichabods dropped to 1-5 overall and 1-4 in the MIAA.

The Wayne State College Airforce was temporarily grounded Saturday afternoon when it gave up a total of eight interceptions on the way to a 21-14 loss to the Tigers of Ft. hays State on the road in Hays, Kan. The Wildcats put the ball up 61 times to set a new school record, and completed 19 passes for 229 yards in the game, while limiting the Tigers to 151 yards, including -19 yards in the rushing category. "We just weren't good fundamentally on offense in the game against Ft. Hays...we weren't doing things right," said WSC Coach Pete Chapman. "The number of interceptions which we gave up were the result of a lot of small things which just kind of snowballed together, such as some breaks in blocking, running the wrong pass routes and hays pass coverage."
