Nancy Dyer and Aznif Calikyan co-founded the Rhode Island Feline Rescue nonprofit organization upon meeting at a fundraiser event for their shared passion of helping cats in need. They officially begun the rescue league in August of 2023, helping foster stray, surrendered or ill cats. Their first fostered cat was Liberty, a stray who was brought to them on the fourth of July. Since opening last year, the organization has had success with ninety-eight fosters and seventy-five adoptions.
