(MARYVILLE, Mo.) The Nodaway County Prosecutor's Office will not be filing charges in regards to the death of infant found at Mozingo Lake in May 2024. According to a document from Prosecuting Attorney Tina Deiter, after an extensive review of reports and medical reports submitted by Maryville Public Safety, as well as applicable laws, there is no evidence any crime was committed.

(Marion County, FLA) -- "Catastrophic" and "unbelievable" are the words a KMAland native uses to describe the carnage left by a major hurricane. Essex native Troy Armstrong serves as EMS director in Anderson County, Kansas. Armstrong was among emergency workers deployed to the southeast before and after Hurricane Helene, which carved a deadly, destructive path through the southeastern U.S. late last month. Armstrong tells KMA News his deployment stemmed from his agency's relationship with American Medical Response, which holds a federal contractor for ambulance strike teams in response to large-scale natural disasters.

(Shenandoah) -- More events are scheduled for a venerable Shenandoah structure in the near future. By unanimous vote Tuesday night, the Shenandoah City Council approved the final payment to MALOJA LLC for $62,500. The money represents the last portion of tax increment financing dollars for renovation of the former Johnson Brothers Mill Building. Back in 2022, the council allocated $250,000 in TIF money for the structure's renovation. MALOJA owner Margaret Brady spearheaded the project. Brady reported on the success of a weekly vendor fair held Thursday nights held at the facility now known as the Mill.
