ARCADIA, La -- The Friday night home game against Jonesboro-Hodge at Arcadia High was not the only battle happening at the school that evening. According to Bienville Parish Sheriff John Ballance, there was a fight in the parking lot following an ongoing argument between the family of Arcadia Mayor O’Landis Millican and the family members of the Arcadia Chief of Police Ciera Murphy.

A Ruston man was arrested for possessing stolen property after a theft victim saw the man with his bicycle on South Farmerville Street Sunday. David Albritton, 58, was arrested for possession of stolen property Oct. 6 after the victim reported his bicycle has been stolen and he saw a man with it.

DUBBERLY - A 10-year-old girl reported missing Tuesday morning was found safe. Peyton Rose Saintignan, 10, was last seen Monday night. Louisiana State Police received a request for an alert at 9 a.m. Tuesday. She was last seen at her home on Magnolia Road in Dubberly and was discovered missing at approximately 11:00 p.m. last night.

According to Louisiana State Police, the Webster Parish Sheriff's Office was able to locate the missing girl. She is safe. Louisiana State Police have issued a Level 2 Endangered/Missing Child alert after they were contacted by the Webster Parish Sheriff's Office about a 10-year-old child who was discovered missing Monday night.

Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB), the state’s premier anti-litter and community improvement organization has chosen the Town of Arcadia to receive a Beautification Grant to support the town’s beautification efforts. Mayor O’Landis Millican announced that Keep Louisiana Beautiful has awarded the $5,000 grant to help create and execute planting projects focused on improving the appearance of communities throughout Louisiana by creating beautiful, well- maintained public spaces. Priority planting projects include improving and beautifying entry points to cities, highway corridors and medians, downtown roadways and intersections, and other highly visible and highly used public spaces. "This grant award represents an active partnership with KLB that will help us uphold our responsibility to do the right thing for the environment and community regarding our efforts to re-establish and promote a sense of community pride through our monthly pick-up litter campaigns and hosting a variety of events in the downtown area to showcase the highlights of our small town which has many buildings dating back to the turn of the 20 th century,” Millican said.

Waits began teaching 14 years ago, with 9 of those years being in Lincoln Parish.
