PEORIA (25News Now) - A new Steinway & Sons piano was just unveiled, making it one of the more expensive pianos being used in public here in Peoria. It will be used during the Art of Opera show featuring Nathan Gunn and students from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.

Live review by Len Weinreich) Evanescent, but indelible… If you were attempting a list of really rare events, hearing two jazz pianists simultaneously on the same platform must be close to the top. But even rarer is hearing two stellar talents playing on two magnificent instruments, well beyond the usual jazz club standard. However, during the past week in Dean Street, Soho, it’s been commonplace at Pizza Express, where the folk who make Steinways had installed two monster grands onto the stage to allow for duo performances.

Sophie Pubert, piano tuner, will open the doors of her workshop in Castelnau-d’Arbieu on the occasion of the European Days of Crafts, from Friday to Sunday. As part of the European Days of Crafts (JEMA), piano lovers and other curious people will have the opportunity to discover the profession of piano tuner and repairer, in the company of Sophie Pubert. A profession that requires patience, meticulousness and know-how.

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Sing for Hope Pianos will take over the arts scene throughout the city of New Orleans, once again encouraging live music throughout the community. Debuting March 25, Sing for Hope will display 11 Sing for Hope Pianos painted by local New Orleans artists which will be unveiled at the New Orleans Jazz Museum. Part of the global Sing for Hope Pianos initiative, these uniquely colorful piano artworks will be available for anyone and everyone to play, listen to, interact with, and enjoy through April 19. At the conclusion of their public residency, the Sing for Hope Pianos will be moved to permanent homes in schools and community-based organizations across the greater New Orleans area, where they will inspire lives for years to come.
