Greg Knox, Florida Gators make most of 'opportunity in chaos,' secure bowl bid with sixth victory
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida interim coach Greg Knox could sense something a little different from the Gators after their meeting in the team hotel on Saturday morning. It had been a wild six weeks for Florida, filled with losses, adversity, and the dismissal of coach Dan Mullen last Sunday. Rather than give up on the season, Knox and his seniors led Florida to a 24-21 win over rival Florida State, clinching bowl eligibility while denying the Seminoles their own shot to get to six wins.
Florida State hilariously whiffs onside kick attempt vs. rival Florida as Gators earn bowl eligibility
Florida State staged an impressive rally during its 24-21 loss at Florida on Saturday, but the Seminoles' bid for a comeback victory fell short -- in part due to a comical onside kick attempt. With 49 seconds remaining and FSU trailing by three, Seminoles kicker Parker Grothaus barely grazed the top of the football with his right foot, causing it to fall off the tee and allowing Florida to take over and run out the clock.
Florida football: Grading the Gators' 2021 season
Florida wrapped up its regular season Saturday with a hard-fought 24-21 victory over rival Florida State. Florida finished 6-6 with a 2-6 SEC record, its worst SEC finish since 1986. Only Vanderbilt (0-8) finished with a worse SEC record.

Five questions, Five answers: FSU falls to UF
The Florida State Seminoles fell short ending their season in an upsetting loss to the Florida Gators on Saturday. A game where nearly everything in the officiating book and under the sun came into play involved targeting, multiple unsportsmanlike penalties, and punches thrown, made it a classic rivalry in it’s own right, starting and ending in an abject fashion. Although the Seminoles ultimately fell to the Gators there were some bright and dark moments in the 24-21 loss. So what happened? What went right? What went wrong? The Tomahawk Nation staff sat down to answer a few questions about the matchup and give some insight into the loss:

A Perfect End To An Imperfect Game, Week For Gators
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — If one play can sum up a game, then go with the failed attempt at an onside kick in the final minute by Florida State kicker Parker Grothaus.
