Dry Creek Road to close Sept. 21 between Spring Creek and Broken Horn roads

EAGLE, Idaho (CBS2) — Drivers in the Treasure Valley should plan for two road closures beginning Monday, Sept. 21, that could affect travel near Eagle and Meridian. Dry Creek Road will be closed starting Sept. 21 between Spring Creek Road and Broken Horn Road for work related to new development. Drivers are advised to access Seamans Gulch Road using Highway 55 and Hill Road as a detour. The road is expected to reopen by early November. The work is not part of an Ada County Highway District project, and questions about the closure should be directed to the contractor, Bully Excavation.

10th Avenue under I-84 to close overnight in Caldwell

CALDWELL, Idaho (CBS2) — The Idaho Transportation Department will close 10th Avenue under I-84 for three nights starting Wednesday, Sept. 23. The 10th Avenue eastbound on- and off-ramps will also close on Wednesday night, followed by the westbound on- and off-ramps on Thursday night. Motorists will detour to Centennial Way.

Diesel prices in Idaho surged nearly $1 in a month, setting a new record Friday as costs continued to climb across the state, according to AAA Idaho. AAA Idaho reported the price of a gallon of diesel rose 95 cents over the past month. Between Thursday and Friday alone, diesel increased 7 cents per gallon statewide, setting another record this week. For the week, diesel is up 38 cents per gallon in Idaho.

Data from the Idaho Office of Highway Safety in Boise shows 90 people were killed in crashes on Idaho roads during the 2026 100 Deadliest Days, the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day when serious and fatal crashes historically rise.
