KEENE, NH – One person has died following a crash on Route 10 in Swanzey Monday morning.

According to a news release from New Hampshire State Police, first responders were called to the scene near Sawyers Crossing Road around 8:40 Monday morning for a report of a serious motor vehicle crash.

Based on preliminary investigations, police say a 2019 GMC Acadia driven by Leslie Keeton, 81, of Swanzey was heading south on Route 10 when it crossed the center line and struck a 2019 Kia Sorento traveling north, driven by Jocelyn Shelley-Blanchard, 41, also of Swanzey.

Keeton and Shelley-Blanchard were both transported by ambulance to Cheshire Medical Center and Keeton was pronounced dead. Shelley-Blanchard sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and an infant passenger in her vehicle was uninjured.

That section of Route 10 was closed for several hours as the NHSP Collision and Analysis Reconstruction Unit documented the crash scene, and it was cleared. The road was reopened to regular traffic around 2:15 pm.

NHSP Troopers were assisted on scene by the Swanzey Police and Fire departments, DiLuzio Ambulance, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any further information should contact Trooper Paul Bergeron at 6-3-223-8494, or Paul.J.Bergeron@dos.nh.gov.
